When parents need a safe place for their child, where do they turn? What questions need asked to be sure that that the care provider is a good fit for the family- do I want some one in my home, or do I want a center- based service? What about private in-home providers? Will they respect my discipline and nutrition wishes? How much are the services? Is part- time care available?
Choosing a childcare provider is hard work. Ask trusted professionals and friends for a referral. Don’t be afraid to visit, interview, and ask tough questions of those placements you are considering. They won’t see you as a bother, rather they will know that you are a loving parent who really cares about your child.
